FAQ:

How to Get Started with Your Cello Lessons

  • Do you teach all ages and levels?
Yes! I have taught students of all ages and levels from beginner to conservatory level for as long as I have played the cello. My private studio today is comprised mainly of adult beginner/intermediate students. No prior musical experience is required.

  • Do you need a cello to begin lessons? Where can I rent?

Yes, you can rent a cello, bow and case at the following shops: David Gage, NYC Quality Strings, Virtuoso Resources, Robertson & Sons, Stringworks, Johnson Strings. There is a studio cello that students are welcome to borrow during lessons but some prefer to bring their own since they get accustomed to hand placement on their personal instruments.
